9/16: "Mortified" Mortifies

Ed Pingol

"Mortified" puts it all on the table at King King on Wednesday, September 16th

"MORTIFIED": This long-running, teen-memories-open-for-all-to-see show is about to turn 7. And while the journals-and-jokes readings haven't reached their own teen years yet, there is plenty of drah-ma to enjoy. Oh, there will also be a special musical appearance by Lol Tolhurst of The Cure. "Tuesday, Wednesday, break my heart" indeed. It all fits. King King, 8PM, $20 door

PHOENIX: Hello pretty, dressed-to-the-nines French pop. What are we drinking? Oh, something fizzy and synth-y and fun is great. With ice cubes and a napkin, please. Oh, and a side of Metric and The Soft Pack. We'll be sipping, very slowly, at the Greek Theatre. Oh, we guess, probably around 7:30PM.

SAKE TASTING: Make for the Crescent Hotel & Restaurant. Sample sakes and learn what to look for (or maybe what to taste for is more accurate). There will be five sakes on the pour, it is hosted by Whole Foods Beverly Hills, and Local Wine Events has the info. $15, 6:30PM
