We are not here to pick on Wednesday. Wednesday has enough to deal with -- that whole unfortunate "hump day" nickname for a start -- and we don't want to add to its woes.

But when a holiday like Bastille Day falls mid-week, one of course looks to the weekend, either before or after, to celebrate. The 2010 Bastille Day is indeed on a Wednesday -- Wednesday, July 14, to be exact -- but le grand LA party happens on Sunday, July 11 at Elysian Park near Dodger Stadium.

Will there be baguettery? French nibbles and delights? Chances to win nice things like a trip to the City of Light? And le popular Waiters' Race?

There will be. Plus a market, clowning, things to shop for and things to look at. An online ticket is $5. Oh la la indeed.
