LOS ANGELES -- San Francisco-based BLVD showcased their unique blend of beats and eclectic sounds Thursday as part of a proper introduction to their latest album, Music For People.
Regulars on the festival circuit, BLVD's Music For People, is the first record with MC Souleye on vocals.
Before joining the originally instrumental group in 2007, MC Souleye has shared the stage with the Glitch Mob, Bassnectar and The String Cheese Incident.
As collaborators, they've refined live instruments and electronic production techniques. Their combined stylistic synergy, liquid flows and high energy dance parties earned them a loyal underground following.
Special guest Break Science, the brainchild of Brooklyn's own drummer/producer Adam Deitch, laid down break beats, hip hop, rap and electronic segueways to connect with the crowd.
Deitch's long list of musical accolades includes touring with Jazz great John Scofield and his work with Justin Timberlake, DJ Quick and Wyclef.
BLVD's Spring Tour just wrapped up in the in Hampton, VA for the Phish after show and currently touring on the west coast. The second leg of the tour takes them to the SXSW festival in Austin and onto a string of dates alongside Lotus as they stop at the premier theaters in the North East.
