Who will be crowned Barista king? Let the coffee games begin.

The 2011 South West Regional Barista Competition starts Friday March 4 and the "Iron Chefs" of the caffeine kingdom will be competing for the title "Barista Champion."

The top six finalists will head on to the U.S. Barista Competition for the chance to represent the United States at the World Barista Championship in Bogota, Columbia, in June.

The competition is open to the public at Siren Studios in Hollywood. The festivities run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 4 through March 6.

And you can be sure plenty of caffeine will be on hand for guests. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, one of the sponsors, will have a coffee and "Brewbar" on hand along with gourmet food trucks such as Sweets Truck and Manilla Machine.

In  addition, several artists are set to perform including Terra Naomi, Learning Music, Red Cortez, John Stratton, Haroula Rose, Jeremy Silver, Hello Vegas & Purple Melon; a special guest appearance will be made by Guns N Roses/Velvet Revolver drummer, Matt Sorum.

While coffee and espresso beverages are free, attendees are encouraged to make a donation to support MusiCares.
