The Addams Family raises the cobwebby roof at the Pantages from Tuesday, June 5 through Sunday, June 17.
Is June the new October?
We were delighted to see that historic Silver City in Kern County will be holding an evening ghost tour on Friday, June 1 (we say "delighted" because it seems to us those sorts of things only truly pop up in the fall).
Sunny summer, you've just gone overcast.
Thought calling any of the Addams peeps anything less than sunny doesn't seem right. Everyone knows the sitcom, and later movie, family, and everyone knows that Morticia and Gomez and Uncle Fester are all pretty funny and fun and generally upbeat.
Well, maybe not Wednesday, so much. Or Lurch, who isn't the most chatty of butlers. But Hand, though? That is one happy appendage.
The musical recently ran on Broadway and has some starry names associated with it; the talents behind the mega-popular "Jersey Boys" penned it.
Of course, we said "The Addams Family" was a sitcom and movie but let's give a joyful shriek to its earliest origins: The stories began as comic drawings at the hand of the wonderful and weird-minded Charles Addams.
And yep, cobwebs and spirits and spooky high jinks will rule, but, truly, is there a family that's as cheerful as a certain group of odd mansion dwellers? Maybe the Addams Family is a sunny summer fit, after all.
