Gruesome Hotel

Write Act Repetory

"Gruesome Hotel" won't provide a relaxing stay, but promises creepy jolts and eerie chuckles galore

A hotel. Nine people milling in a lobby. And one person who is never, ever going to check out. Welcome to "Gruesome Hotel," a murderous yet mirthful play that pulls audience members into the riotous action.

Staged by Write Act Repertory, "Gruesome Hotel" doesn't merely invite onlookers to participate. The audience is allowed to ask probing questions of those nine suspects, what they were doing at the hotel and why they might be responsible for the terrible deed. After thorough investigation, theatergoers decide en masse which of the nine has done the crime. Expect the ultimate finger pointing to be a most dramatic moment.

Eye Spy LA spotlights the play's zany characters; we're looking forward to exorcising some of our "Shining"-based hotel fears with a few screams (and several laughs). After all, don't we all have a bit of fear about sleeping over at an unknown place surrounded by strangers on all sides? Shudder.
