BILL PULLMAN IN PERSON: Two facts: A "Spaceballs" screening has a way of instantly de-Mondaying Monday, and when a star of the film shows up, it is nearly like it is a weekend night. Second fact: The Mel Brooks space laugher marks a quarter century next year, so we all need to be paying some due. Get out and see Lone Starr -- that's Bill Pullman -- talking about the movie, tonight at ArcLight Hollywood. 8 p.m.
"THE LOVER'S DICTIONARY": It's not exactly a dictionary per se, but a novel. The story is told through definitions. And the title suggests that those definitions may have to do with a particular emotion. All intriguing, and we're guessing author David Levithan, during his Book Soup appearance tonight, will talk a bit more about writing fiction in this unusual form. 7 p.m.
"THE ROSE BOWL": A certain famous Pasadena event has been over for just over a week, but bet eyes and minds are starting to think about 2012. You can get excited early with a visit to Vroman's Bookstore, where author Michelle L. Turner will be talking about her new book which talks about one of the most celebrated venues around. 7 p.m.
