LAS POSADAS: The song-filled procession has been journeying by the stalls and shops of Olvera Street for nine nights now (and for years and years prior to 2010, of course). Christmas Eve is the final evening of the traditional celebration. Pan dulce, hot chocolate, and a sweet and celebratory air are part of the proceedings as well. Things start up at 5:30 p.m., with a pinata at 6:30 p.m. and the procession at 7:30 p.m.
FEAST OF THE 7 FISHES: The festive yuletide supper is being presented in full at Georgio's Cucina in Studio City. La Vigilia di Natale is indeed seven courses, and diners will enjoy pane le forno and risotto and branzino and more, all for a prix fixe price. Call Georgio's for details. The cost is $65, and there's a "wine pairing supplement" fee for $45.
ON STAGE: Acclaimed play "Next to Normal" has a matinee Christmas Eve show at the Ahmanson; The Los Angeles Ballet presents a matinee of "The Nutcracker" in Redondo Beach; and Broadway Holiday" has two shows listed at the Geffen Playhouse.
