Tonight: "Traces" Catapults Into Hollywood

Michael Meseke

"Traces" opens at the Montalban on Tuesday, Jan. 11.

"TRACES": Acrobatics isn't all basic tumbling. Often it can involve leaping, without really looking, through a small ring, or hanging by the feet from a pole. Or skateboards. Or comfy plush armchairs. Or basketballs. The tight, stand-apart outfit "Traces" will be starting a Montalban tonight; watch video here. That stacked ring thing; how do they go through so cleanly so quickly? Through Sunday, Feb. 20

JUST AROUND THE CORNER: "Hair" is at the Pantages Theatre. Have you been on up stage yet? We hear it is quite the trip. Plus: singing, loudly, with joy. Always welcome. 8 p.m.

FREE AUTRY ADMISSION: It's not tonight, but today, and just today, but we thought it worth mentioning because 1) The Autry National Center is well awesome and 2) "free" is a lovely word to type, and think about. Get up to the Griffith Park institution if you can't wait for the bigger, citywide museum free day, which is happening on the last Saturday of January.
