Beyonce puts a ring on it at Staples Center on Monday, July 13th
I AM... WORLD TOUR: It's a big, globe-spanning, music-filled venture. It's Beyonce. Oscars, arenas, doesn't matter: Beyonce is up there giving a razzle-dazzle, shimmy-shimmy show of shows. Just how many times will "Single Ladies" play in our head today? Probably a lot. We just have to stop ourselves from acting out the whole video... Staples Center, 7:30PM
INCUBUS: They're local guys -- not everyone came up through LA in the music/entertainment biz, most show up here as adults -- who dreamed those first strobe-lit, lavish rock dreams in Calabasas. Nice. The band's space-filling, alt-rock-y riffs should expand and swirl around the upper pockets of the Hollywood Bowl very well, we think. 7:30PM
FREE SCREENING: Daddy I want to see the original "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" now! That can happen, at OCPAC. The center's doing free summertime classics on Monday nights. Picnics and foldy chairs are welcome. Flick starts when the sun goes down (think 8PM). Gene Wilder in his purple top hat is exactly what the beginning of the week ordered.
