Your job: Decide to get out of town and fast. Our job: Help you find where you're headed. This week, NBCLA's Worth the Drive takes us to...
Caesars Palace: Ding ding ding ding ding. That famous, oh-so-Vegas sound, when you first walk inside Caesars; you're hearing it now, yes? We are. Now walk on through the casino, past the mirror-y noodle restaurant with all the fish tanks, and out into the back of the hotel, where you'll enter...
The Garden of the Gods Oasis: The new "pool experience" at the center-Strip landmark. A lot of the pools you've splashed about in are still there, but the whole area has been rethought, reworked, retooled, reopened. The rich-blue/column-white palette abounds still. A classic since the days of Jay Sarno, the first Caesar at Caesars.
The pools: There are over a half dozen in total: Bacchus, Fortuna, Apollo, Neptune, Temple, Jupiter, Venus.
Debut: The Oasis opened on Friday, March 19; Venus will draw back the curtains on April 1.
Features: Fortuna has a sizable waterfall; Neptune's near the bar; Temple boasts the famous rotunda; and Bacchus is the spot where the loungers are actually partially submerged in the water. Are you picturing yourself, with a stack of magazines, in the middle of an August afternoon, hip-deep in the refreshing blue? Let's all picture that, right now.
And cabanas: Of course, cabanas. Look for 44 new tony tents to be dotting the Oasis.
Ding ding ding ding ding: You're still hearing it, aren't you?
