The LA Opera is selling costumes, just in time for Halloween.
Have you ever dreamed about dressing like a diva? Would you like to parade around like a merry peasant, or do you want to sing opera on stage like Pavarotti?
Well, we can't help you with the last one, but thanks to the Los Angeles Opera, at least you can dress the part.
For the first time, the LA Opera is opening its overstuffed Costume Shop for its first-ever costume sale, just in time for Halloween.
The Costume Studio's storage racks are bursting at the seams, and the company is selling more than 2,500 costume pieces to create more room for its ever-growing production repertoire.
Pieces for sale will include everything ranging from complete "Merry Peasant" and "Medieval Courtier" costumes, to individual pieces such as capes, hats, shoes and fans.
Highlights of the collection will include a number of "diva dresses," stunning handcrafted gowns worn by LA Opera's leading ladies including LA Opera artist Carol Vaness.
The sale is on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the LA Opera's Costume Shop, located at 330 South Alameda St. in downtown Los Angeles.
Parking is available on the street, and there is secured pay parking in the Little Tokyo Galleria parking structure directly across the street from the Costume Shop.
