Eat This: Wine Dinner at Saddle Peak Lodge

Eat This is NBCLA's twice-weekly look at the best meals in town.

Your job: Get to the restaurant. Our job: Help you order. This week, NBCLA's Eat This journey takes us out for...

Stolpman Vineyards Wine Dinner: It's at Saddle Peak Lodge in Calabasas.

When: Wednesday, January 20th

About Stolpman: Located in Santa Barbara County's Ballard Canyon, Stolpman has been making wines for the better part of two decades. Several Syrahs are listed on the winery's libation line-up, as well as tasty-looking, apricot-y Sauvignon Blanc.

The Saddle Peak event: Four courses and a dessert. Course numero uno is Albacore Crudo with garlic and grapefruit, in addition to persimmon (we like the spicy-fruity one-two pow). The third course is Duck Confit. Each chapter is served with a different Stolpman sip.

Price: $95 (and tax/gratuity will be separate)

Saddle Peak Lodge: We're thinking of it today. The fireplace. The rustic lodge-nook-getaway-ness of it all. But specifically getting close to some crackling logs crackling inside a famous restaurant. Saddle Peak is a treasure of SoCal any day of the year, but come January, the Calabasas-located carnivore's dream takes a starring role on the scene. Cozy.
