HOLLYWOOD— On September 19 Paramount Studios will host a celebration of everything American with an event titled Septemberfest. The $40 admission fee guarantees unlimited samples of over 150 different beers, in addition to Border Grill taco truck fare, burgers, and sausages. Tix will not be for sale at the door so remember to get yours in advance. [EaterWire]

OUT AND ABOUT— Sure, there's been a fair share of shutters, but there have also been a ton of new eateries opening up despite the economic downturn. According to the National Restaurant Association, the restaurant industry has registered its first gain in three months, as tracked by the Restaurant Performance Index which follows "the health of and outlook for the U.S. restaurant industry."
