Food trucks have long been a fixture on the L.A. food scene, but the new trend is all about breakfast.
It’s the most important meal of the day, and "Today in LA’s Breakfast Food Truck Week" will show you some of the best ones to brighten up your morning.
The Buttermilk Truck: Who can resist red velvet chocolate chip pancakes? The truck carries daily-made biscuits, pancakes, waffles and donuts made with the truck’s key ingredient: buttermilk. It’s not for carb-phobics.
The Gastrobus: This big yellow bus serves all kinds of hearty fare, like pulled pork and hanger steak sandwiches. But on Sundays, the family-owned truck brings out a farmers-market-inspired brunch menu.
Crepes Bonaparte: You can’t go wrong with this classic french breakfast fare. The truck’s Wake-Me-Up Special crepe with egg, mozzarella and pesto and their Spicy Apple Bottoms crepe with cinammon apples, caramel and whipped cream has fans lined up around the block.
The GreenTruck: If all-you-can-eat is your breakfast style, The GreenTruck is for you. Their Good Morning Breakfast Buffet will load you up with free range egg scrambles, country potatoes and bacon. Plus, it’s almost guilt free: all food served at the truck is organic, locally grown and touted as a healthy alternative.
