1) Beverly Hills: Just last year LAmag named Massimo Ormani's self-titled Italian abode, Massimo, one of the top 75 best restaurants in LA. Despite the positive (two star) sentiments, the eatery could not sustain itself in the current economy and has closed its Beverly Hills doors. While the website is still active, the phone line is dead. [EaterWire]

2) Mid-City: And in other shutter news, after only about a year of service, Yuri, the casual Japanese cafe and tea shop on Melrose is doneski too. [EaterWire]
