There are many reasons to like the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale, as many reasons as there are vegan chocolate chips in a big bowl of batter.

Reason #1: It is indeed worldwide. That's not just a catchy part of the name. Check out the many sales in just Australia alone.

Reason #2: Anyone who is vegan, or has a pal who is a vegan, knows that finding non-vegan-esque bakery treats can be a challenge on any given day. But not at these sales. Stock up on the sweets, we say.

Reason #3: It's a bake sale that is running over two weekends (and possibly days sandwiched in-between), which doesn't happen all too often. Seems like bake sales are sadly over-and-out in a matter of hours. The WVBS started on Saturday, April 24 and runs through Sunday, May 2.

Reason #4: Multiple locations. Bake Me Up! had an Echo Park sale on April 24 (and will have another at Locali on May 1). Also ahead is the Animal Rescue Media Education sale on Melrose on Saturday, May 1. Check the list for locations and orgs around SoCal.

Reason #5: The sales are raising funds for lots of worthy groups; eye everything that is receiving support.
