An investigation continued early Tuesday in the death of a female who jumped from a bridge or overpass, forcing closure of lanes on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Hawthorne area for several hours.

The female apparently jumped from the eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway at the cloverleaf interchange with the San Diego Freeway and Imperial Highway just after 9:45 p.m. on Monday, a CHP dispatcher said.

Closures for the death investigation on the 405 lasted until early Tuesday.

All lanes of the northbound 405 and the transition to the westbound 105 were reported open just after 1:30 a.m.
