HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. -- A study has been approved to place red-light cameras at as many as 20 Huntington Beach intersections, it was reported Tuesday.

The study will be conducted by Redflex Traffic System, and will be free to the city. Eventually, the Huntington Beach city council will decide whether or not to permanently install the cameras, at a cost of $6,000 per camera per month, the Orange County Register reported.

The Council voted 5-2 on Monday in favor of the study.
