Angelenos in search of pool-side drinks and hot craps tables were instead relegated to gridlock thanks to a tanker truck spill on the 15 Freeway near the California-Nevada border Friday.

The incident started around 6:30 a.m. near Primm when a tanker collided with a car, sending at least 3,000 gallons of corrosive ferric chloride and a small amount of diesel fuel into the center median.

Hazmat crews worked to clean up the mess, while all lanes in both directions were shut down.

Around 4:30 p.m., Caltrans announced that all lanes were reopened, although motorists were still experiencing delays.

No injuries were reported.
