Any time there's trouble on Earth, we can count on NASA's Earth Observatory for some great satellite photos.
This time is no different.
On Friday, NASA released an Aqua satellite photo of the storms hitting California. They also released an animation showing the storms advancing on the Golden State from Jan. 19-21.
"Over the Pacific Ocean and the California coast, clouds assume the shape of a giant apostrophe, looking vaguely like a hurricane missing most of its center," according to NASA.
