High Winds Close Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs

A wind advisory was issued by the California Highway Patrol at 8:57 a.m. from Cabazon to state Route 62, and Gene Autry Trail between Interstate 10 and Vista Chino was shut down, said Officer Ramon Perez.

Gusty winds on Friday morning caused authorities to close Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs, according to the California Highway Patrol.
  
A wind advisory was issued by the California Highway Patrol at 8:57 a.m. from Cabazon to state Route 62, and Gene Autry Trail between Interstate 10 and Vista Chino was shut down, said Officer Ramon Perez.
  
According to MyDesert.com, a big rig overturned Friday morning at the bridge on Gene Autry Trail near Interstate 10.

The newspaper reported that conditions were "extremely windy" and that the truck had two trailers, the first carrying dry goods and the second, which overturned in the sand, was empty.
