The historically wettest month of the year rounds out its first week true to form with rain slowing early morning commutes in the Southland.

A quarter-inch to an inch of rain can be expected in the coast and valley areas Tuesday with showers continuing through the early evening hours.

Widespread temperatures in the 60s and breezy winds are expected prominently everywhere with the exception of the mountain communities in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Mountain areas may experience isolated gusts up to 60 MPH and temperatures in the mid 40's.
Snowfall of 3-7 inches is expected above 6,000 ft.

The wet weather pattern will continue through Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning with the heaviest participation moving from the Northwest to the Southwest over the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Clear skies and sunshine are expected Thursday and Friday reaching temperatures in the 70s by the weekend.
