New Debut: ArcLight Pasadena

The third ArcLight opens, just in time for summer.

If that handbook ever gets published -- the one on how to open a successful, much-buzzed-about cinema-forward movie theater chain -- it'll probably say that coinciding your debut date with the start of the summer blockbuster season is not a bad plan.

And well looky there: ArcLight has just opened its third location, on Friday, May 7, the very same date as the release of "Iron Man 2," which people near and far will recognize as the kick-off of the summer 2010 movie season.

The new ArcLight is at Paseo Colorado in Pasadena. And while the address is new, fans will recognize the oversized seats, the on-site bar, and the caramel popcorn that's become much-associated with the upscale screens. In short, ArcLight has alighted on its tried-and-true tropes.

Oh, and the starry stop-bys. Richard Dreyfuss is Q&Aing about "The Lightkeepers" on opening night.

The other ArcLights are in Sherman Oaks and Hollywood. Now, who'll be the first to see a movie at each ArcLight in a single day?
