What was it that Agent Dale Cooper so wisely said? Every day, give yourself one treat? And his was piping hot coffee, we believe?
On Saturday, Feb. 12 and Sunday, Feb. 13 fans of Agent Cooper, and the series in which he starred -- that would be "Twin Peaks" -- will be able to treat themselves, and at Clifton's no less, where piping hot coffee is actually served.
But it isn't the coffee we reference. Rather, the "Twin Peaks" 20th Anniversary Art Exhibition will be on display, and for just the two days listed above, and just for a few hours on both days. The opening is on Saturday night, and the exhibit will be on view for five hours on Sunday. Both are open on a "first-come" basis.
Several artists will be paying tribute to "Peaks," including David Lynch. Hmm. David Lynch. Daaavid Lynch. Rings a bell. Also ringing our bells, hard, are Grace Zabriskie and Richard Beymer -- Mrs. Palmer and the manager of the Great Northern, respectively -- who will each have work in the show.
And, as mentioned, Clifton's is the setting. The cafeteria is just about the most Peaksian place in all of LA-land (save the studio up on Balboa in Encino, where much of the Northwest-set show was actually shot).
If you forget your log, no worries. Clifton's is plenty loggy. You'll be comfortable there.
