“District 9” Director and Star Reuniting for Sci-Fi Thriller

Neill Blomkamp and Sharlto Copley came out of nowhere in "District 9," deliver one of the best, smartest and most entertaining genre films of 2010. Looks like their hoping lightning will strike again with a new film called "Elysium."

"Neil is taking meetings all over town. There is a lot of interest from every studio," a source told Deadline. Copley is reportedly attached to star.

While plot details are scant, Blomkamp has in the past that "Elysium" is "violent, very violent, and very unique," adding "it is science fiction and it has many sociopolitical ideas ...  wrapped up inside ... a Hollywood action film… the next film takes place 150 years from now. There are two cities that I’m choosing between. They would play as themselves."

And top spare you the tedium of googling it yourself, we'll tell you that the title comes from the section of the Underworld in Greek mythology that was the final resting place for heroes. So it's safe to say some folks are gonna die in this one.

Copley, who was the best thing in this summer's "A-Team" adaption, will next be seen starring in the upcoming "Men in Black III."
