“Horrible Bosses” Scribes Penning “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” Sequel

The folks at Sony Pictures Animation have been busy this week, announcing a new Adam Sandler project and now a sequel to their first big hit.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the duo whose "Horrible Bosses" opens tomorrow, have signed on the pen the sequel to "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," reported 24 Frames. Based on the book of the same name, the film came out in 2009 and made more than $240 million globally.

Ron and Judi Barrett, authors of the original, wrote their own sequel back in the '70s, "Pickles to Pittsburgh," but Daley and Goldstien's script will not be based on that, rather it will be an original story.

In addition to "Horrible" and "Cloudy," Daley and Goldstein also wrote the upcoming Steve Carell film "Burt Wonderstone," in which he plays a past-his-prime magician; a reboot of the famed "Vacation" franchise, in which Rusty is all grown up and taking his won kids to Wally World; and they swear their script for "The $40,000 Man" is still at New Line awaiting development. You can read more about what they're up to in our interview which ran just yesterday.
