Los Angeles and mankind are threatened once again, this time in the trailer for "Skyline," the new end-of-days sci-fi film about an armada of ships that come to Earth to suck up all the humans.
The clip opens with news anchors Lawrence O'Donnell and Dan Rather echoing the sentiments of acclaimed scientist Stephen Hawking, who is smart enough to know that aliens are probably out there, are likely smarter than us and would no doubt wipe us out. In short, Hawking thinks we should avoid them like the plague. Amen, brother.
There's not really much to the trailer, with the exception of O'Donnell and Rather, no one else speaks and the only two other actors we get even a peek at are seen from behind. It's pretty much just a CGI rendering of L.A. being attacked and then its inhabitants being vacuumed up like so many bedbugs.
The film was directed by Colin and Greg Strauss, a pair of special-effects veterans who've worked on dozens of films ranging from "The Nutty Professor" to "Avatar," and stars a collection of recognizable faces with little known names, like Donald Faison, Eric Balfour, David Zayas, Scottie Thompson and Brittany Daniel.
The rest of the film arrives Nov. 12.
