Tuesday Watch List: Weeeeeeeed!

Welcome to Watch List, where we identify five things on TV to watch while you stay at home and feed the elk. LET’S GO!

FRONTLINE: POT REPUBLIC – 9:00PM (PBS) The most intense news program on TV takes a look at California’s burgeoning legitimate medical marijuana industry, and the black market that has spawned from shady prescription practices. I said it before and I’ll say it again: You want to save this country’s economy? You want to help get rid of the debt? FULLY LEGAL WEED. Make it legal, tax it, open the doors for tourists, and suddenly you got yourself a thriving nation. A hungry, dry-eyed, kinda loopy, but THRIVING nation. ANTICIPATION: WEED!

AWKWARD. – 11:00PM (MTV) In case you missed the premiere of MTV’s endearing new sitcom, tune in this evening for a new episode, in which our hero Jenna is humiliated when a nude picture of her gets passed around the school via social networks. So, so glad I only took analog naked photos of myself back in the day. If anyone had seen those, it really would have been awkward, nearly as awkward as the period in this show’s title. ANTICIPATION: TEENY!

TURNING POINT – 10:00PM (OWN) Oprah’s channel teams up with ABC News to bring you this new newsmagazine about “the fragility of life.” First up, the story of that one guy in Boston who had to get a face transplant after having his original face burned off in a horrible accident. WARNING: There will probably be pictures. I have seen them. They are difficult to look at. Don’t be eating beer cheese soup when you chance upon them. ANTICIPATION: NIGHTMARES!

AFTERMATH WITH WILLIAM SHATNER – 10:00PM (BIO) Tonight, the hardest working man in showbiz welcomes Jeff Hart, one of the rescuers who helped free the 33 Chilean miners last year. And give it up for Bill Shatner, who is EIGHTY years old and is still cruising along, acting and hosting talk shows and doing God knows what else. The man is 80! That’s crazy! ANTICIPATION: EIGHTY I TELL YOU!

DEADLIEST CATCH – 10:01PM (Discovery) It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of Season 7. Watch as the fishermen get testy with the cameramen, which is a nice change of pace from the fishermen getting testy with other fishermen. ANTICIPATION: ARGUING!
