Apple to Shut Stores Wednesday for Steve Jobs Memorial

Apple is planning to shut its retail stores for several hours Wednesday in honor of Steve Jobs.

The iPad-maker will hold a private memorial on its Cupertino campus for employees Wednesday to remember their fallen CEO.

Livestreams will be set up in the stores for Apple employees to watch the ceremonies.

Apple held a private memorial Sunday at Stanford's Palo Alto campus with Jobs' family, friends, fellow tech leaders, celebrities and politicians.

Wednesday's employee memorial will start at 10 a.m. and end around 11:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.

Stores across the world are expected to shut down to coincide with the memorial and many were not accepting online reservations for Genius Bar or training classes for Wednesday morning.
