Egypt's Message to Facebook: Thank You

Facebook may want to play down its role in overthrowing governments on the other side of the globe but Egyptians fighting for their freedom see it differently.

NBC News reporter Richard Engel is covering the popular uprising taking place in Cairo that many have said would not have been possible without youngsters organizing on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

The Washington Post ran a story Thursday saying Facebook was reluctant to embrace its role in "international takedowns." Egyptians on the other hand are not so shy to give credit where they see credit is due.

Friday Egyptians were standing in Tahrir Square holding a sign in Arabic that translated read "Thank you... Youth of Egypt Facebook."

Engle captured the picture and sent it out accordingly enough on Twitter.
