Mobile Users Outnumber Web Users on Facebook

Facebook reported that its daily mobile users now outnumber those using the social network on the Web.

The news was released in Facebook's fourth-quarter earnings release and seemed to be a self-fulfilling prophecy -- especially since chief Mark Zuckerberg has been trying to soothe investor anxiety about the social network's mobile growth since last September. Luckily, mobile has improved. It was about 23 percent of Facebook's ad revenue this quarter, up about 14 percent from the prior quarter, according to TechCrunch.

"In 2012, we connected over a billion people and became a mobile company. We enter 2013 with good momentum and will continue to invest to achieve our mission," Facebook chief and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement.

Zuckerberg continued to promote mobile as Facebook's future, almost as if he was saying the words that investors really wanted to hear.
