Yahoo Rules Search on Desktop

If you have a desktop computer, chances are you have browsed the Internet using Yahoo. It's OK, most of us have -- and that's why it's ranked the top search engine for desktop computer, according to analytics firm comScore.

Yahoo scored the top title in July 2013 and apparently has keep the No. 1 place for the last six months, according to CNET. Yahoo had 195 million unique users in December 2013, while Google had 192 million, and Microsoft had 175 million. The entire desktop population using Internet search is 224 million.

Until July 2013, Google held the top spot, but Yahoo has been keeping its users. While Yahoo is an older brand than either Google or Bing, it may be that desktop users are older and may be more likely to have Yahoo email accounts (that includes this writer.)
