Disneyland, Like You've Never Seen It

Disneyland: Well, we all know it's the happiest place on Earth, but is that still true when there are hour-long waits for rides, screaming tykes and endless amounts of sugary fuel (fueling the screams, of course)?  Here's a way to enjoy the magical land, stress-free--well, almost.

When to go:  When there are the least amount of  D-Land-goers crowding the place (no hard feelings).  This is key. A little birdie told me that Super Bowl Sunday is one day in particular when most people don't think to go to Disneyland.  We're thinking it's either because people have big plans to watch the game or, dad does.

Insider tips: Fast pass, fast pass, fast pass! At the entrance of most rides, you'll see a fast-track option.  It's simple. And well worth it.  You snag a ticket that tells you what time to come back to get speedy entry into the ride.  Sometimes it's 30 minutes and other times it's a couple hours.  Either way, you won’t have to waste half your day waiting in lines.  Also, if you have an iPhone (and, who doesn't these days?) download the free "app," Mouse Wait, to get wait times and Park secrets right on your phone.

Stay a while: If you book two nights at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you’ll get 40% off your stay.  Act fast.  The deal lasts now until September 29.

Looking forward to:  For all those "under the sea" fans, the Voyage of the Little Mermaid dark ride will open at Disney's California Adventure in 2011.
