Autumn weekends are the perfect time to escape the city. And few towns rival the charms of Ventura, with its picturesque Harbor Village, local wineries and proximity to the magnificent Channel Islands National Park.
Well, now a weekend trip to Ventura is even more of a must thanks to the Harvest Festival® Original Art & Craft Show, taking place from October 4-6. Set in the beautiful Seaside Park in the Ventura County Fairgrounds, the three-day art and craft extravaganza sees hundreds of artisans converge to showcase their techniques and sell over 24,000 handmade American items. Pack your shopping bag full of stunning jewelry, blown glass, beautiful ceramics, wood carvings, holiday ornaments and even homemade soups and sauces. Friendly artists are happy to converse with customers at their booths and personalize purchased items, making the Harvest Festival® Original Art & Craft Show a truly memorable experience, not to mention the west coast's largest and finest indoor craft show.
There's plenty of entertainment on tap, too. From bands to towering roping cowboys, a one-man comedy show to kid's craft classes, you'll never experience a dull moment. And did we mention the prizes and drawings? Make sure to enter and be eligible for fabulous goodies like a Ventura County Wine Trail tour for two (replete with tastings, wine glasses and an overnight stay at the Ventura Marriot) and a stunning Randy Polk-designed ring with mother of pearl diamonds and orange sapphires.
Festivities support the Boys & Girls Club of Ventura and FOOD Share program, while attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods for donation to get $2 off their adult and senior admission.
Tickets to the Harvest Festival® Original Art & Craft Show range from $4 to $9 (guarantees admission for all three days) and kids under 12 are free. For more information, including a full list of exhibitors, visit Harvestfestival.com.
