ZOO TIME: A favorite libation is lovely in just about any location -- we said "just about" there -- but when the location is a beautiful zoo, full of beastie yipping and bird calls, and "special animal encounters" are promised, then the whole affair shoots straight up the awesome scale. The Santa Barbara Zoo Brew does indeed involve the Santa Barbara Zoo, and it does indeed involve brews, and it is happening on Saturday, June 11. Regional breweries -- about a dozen and a half of them -- will be pouring their crafty beers, and zoo people will be talking about the park's denizens. Cue beastie yipping and bird calls.
TICKETS: A general is $45. If you'd like a designated driver ticket, those are available, too, but you'll need to ring the organizers. If you'll be further up the coast that day, but still wouldn't mind stopping by a beer fest, note that the Monterey Beer Festival is also going down.
