Sin City Summer Escape Packages

Five Strip hotels offer a host of deals.

CASINOTIME: There are four seasons, or so we've been told, but we like to think that when we're in Las Vegas a fifth season reigns: Casinotime. If you've spent more than five minutes in Sin City this does not need to be explained; if you haven't been to the glittery, go-go-go town, basically Casinotime is the season you experience when you're inside a casino. The air is always the perfect temperature and the lights are low and that famous slot-machine-y ding-ding-ding rings throughout. Which is one reason we always are charmed when people say the Nevada city is a bit too toasty in the summer: It may be summertime outdoors, but it is Casinotime inside those famous buildings. Meaning summer is a fine time to visit Sin City, especially because it produces so many deals and discounts.

AND HERE ARE SEVERAL: Five major Strip properties are offering a host of budget-minded offers for warm-weather visitors. The properties are Mandalay Bay, New York-New York, Monte Carlo, Luxor, and Excalibur --  heard of them? -- and the deals include spa and dining deals and really low room starter rates. How low? They're starting at $31 for a night at Excalibur. C'mon; those are late '80s prices, right? For the full rundown, including one buck Jell-O shots at Excalibur's Lounge, check it out here. Yep, it may be summertime in the desert, but it is Casinotime, too. Meaning that Las Vegas is truly that one place where two seasons can exist simultaneously. Maybe it really is magic.
