HOTEL HALLOWEEN: Sometimes, when one is looking for a way to celebrate the scariest of holidays, one would like a place to party and have that be a place to stay as well. All that ghost-hunting can exhaust, and driving home does not appeal. With that in mind, hotel-based bashes do particularly entice, and the one that is going down at the Culver Hotel, which is already fairly Halloween-y in appearance most days of the year, has caught our eerie-seeking eye.
APEROL, APPETIZERS, ODDITIES: The fall-hued orange-red apertif will be flowing the Culver City hostelry's lounge on Friday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 31. There will be bites of the tasty kind. There will be costumes rocked. And, of course, this Halloween partying is all going down in one of our city's said-to-be-haunted hotels. Whether you believe or not, you can't deny the Culver's role in Hollywood and fantasy history, which definitely has to account for some of its delightful/frightful flavor.
CULVERLAND: This giant free art game is not far from the hotel, and is up through the end of the month. Arrive early and play.
