We Love Chowder

CHOWDER TIME: epicure.sb bestows many culinary gifts on the good people of Santa Barbara and visitors as well, and it does so for an entire month. We're still in that month -- spoiler alert, we're talking about October -- and the foodie tastings and gatherings and confabs are still going strong. Next up? The second annual Chowder Festival. If you're a chowder person you've likely already stopped reading this and have started to text your friends to see who will be doing the driving on Sunday, Oct. 23 (so we're not sure why exactly we're still typing this sentence). But even if you're not hardcore in to the savory seafood-in-a-steamy-bowl wonder, we still recommend. It's a great way to get to try some delicious soups and wines, and all on a pleasant Sunday afternoon

TIME AND PLACE: The swank Montecito Country Club is the place to be on the 23rd; 1 to 5 p.m. is the time. And the restaurants? There are many (think Chuck's Waterfront Grill, The Palace Grill, Max's). And the wineries and breweries who will be showing up with their own libations? Also plentiful (think Brander, Oreana, Telegraph). A ticket is $80.
