CHROME-Y CLASSICS: Southern and Central California have enjoyed a bevy of vintage car shows lately -- we're thinking of the La Jolla and Seal Beach extravaganzas, among others -- but with the weather warming up, slowly, slowly, there are many more ahead. Next up is Wheels and Waves in Santa Barbara. Nope, it isn't on the beach, but isn't too far; State Street is the stroll-y location. (A good location, too; you'll find lunch somewhere along the route with no problem.)
VROOM-VROOM DETAILS: There's a cruise on Saturday, May 14, but if you're looking for the big line-'em-up show, best get to State Street on Sunday, May 15. Photos from last year tell us two definite things: Many people attend, and there are many cars to gaze at (and, yes, occasionally covet). Oh, and the "up to" year for the vehicles involved? 1976. Count on hot rods aplenty, hot rod buffs.
