The Hotel Shangri-LA is offering a 32-Nation breakfast during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Your job: Decide to get out of town and fast. Our job: Help you find where you're headed. This week, NBCLA's Worth the Drive takes us to...

The Hotel Shangri-LA: It's not a drive-drive, really, seeing how it is close to the Santa Monica Pier. But it gets the getaway stamp this week for several reasons.

World Cup: Reason No. 1. The Shangri-LA is doing a 32-Nation Themed Breakfast in honor of the global event. When a particular match is broadcast, the hotel will create a breakfast honoring the countries represented in the match. Specialties may include Japanese Spicy Toro Gohan, Ghana's Jollof Rice, and Gouda & Ham sandwiches for the Netherlands.

Reasons 2-4: The hotel has several other specials going on, including Ditch Day Fridays, which start at 1 p.m. near the pool (look for drink specials and bites). There's also Suite 700, the rooftop hangout at the hotel, and the Courtyard, the al fresco dining room.

Packages: They've got 'em, including a stay-3-nights-get-a-quarter-off deal.

Excess: Yep, it's actually a category on the hotel's web site. Click it, if you're curious.
