    Kim Tobin

    Kim Tobin is an award winning general assignment reporter for NBC4. She reports weekdays on the NBC4 News at 11 a.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and on the NBC4 News at 5, 6 and 11 p.m. on weekends. Follow her on Facebook here.

    Tobin was born in Orange County and grew up in Prescott, Arizona. She is a versatile journalist who covers everything from breaking news and feature pieces to community stories and red carpet events. She was live covering the destruction from the Woolsey and Holy wildfires that hit Southern California, burning thousands of acres and forcing many people from their homes. Tobin was also in Thousand Oaks, California reporting about the tragic shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill and the devastating aftermath.
     
    Prior to joining NBC4, Tobin was an anchor and reporter for KNXV in Phoenix where she covered a series of freeway shootings that struck the region. She was also on the ground live when protests broke out during a visit from President Trump after the violence that erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2017.
     
    Tobin was also a morning anchor for the NBC affiliate KOB-TV in Albuquerque, NM. Tobin started her career at KTVZ in Bend, Oregon, as a weekend anchor and reporter.
     
    In addition to covering breaking news, Tobin enjoys telling stories about people making a difference in the community. Several memorable stories include a Los Angeles County deputy who gave CPR to a baby boy and saved his life, and when she interviewed a nine-year-old girl who saved her father’s life by giving him a shot of insulin when he had a diabetic attack.
     
    Tobin is a graduate of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association.
     
    When not working, Tobin likes to fuel her adventurous side with outdoor activities and traveling. She is a certified scuba diver and likes hiking, rock climbing and trying new restaurants. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
