Fritz Coleman Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award by the Radio & Television News Association

NBC4 Southern California Weathercaster Fritz Coleman received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 67th Annual Golden Mike Awards presented by the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California on Saturday, January 28 in Universal City.  

NBC4 received the Golden Mike Award for the best evening newscast for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m.

The station was also awarded 11 Golden Mikes in the following categories:

• Best Individual Writing - “Seeking Justice for Cedric Horne”

• Best Sports Reporting – “Blake Leeper Back on Track”

• Best Spot News Reporting – “San Bernardino Terrorist Attack”

• Best Live Coverage of a News Story – “San Bernardino Shooting”

• Best News Public Affairs Program – “Life Connected: Asian Pacific Heritage”

• Best News Reporting – “Fair Use of Force?”

• Best Hard News Series Reporting – “LA’s Nuclear Secret: Camp Cover-Up”

• Best News Special – “El Nino: Currents of Change”

• Best Government and Political Reporting – “Actors For Hire: Concerned Citizens Turn Out to Be Political Theater”

• Best Video Editing of a Hard News Story, Series or Special – “Tracking Stolen Guns”
