NBC4 Anchor Chuck Henry Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

NBC4 Anchor Chuck Henry was honored with the Lifetime Achievement award at the 68th Annual Golden Mike Awards presented by the Radio & Television News Association (RTNA) of Southern California on January 27, 2018 in Universal City.  The station also took home eight Golden Mike Awards, including:

  • Best News Broadcast - 30 minutes - "NBC4 News at 11 p.m."
  • Best Daytime News Broadcast - "Today in LA at 6 a.m."
  • Best Live Coverage of a News Story - "La Tuna Fire Threatens Burbank"
  • Best Hard News Series Reporting - "Everyday Will Be Hard"
  • Best Light Feature Reporting - "Life Connected: Veterans Service Dogs"
  • Best Business and Consumer Reporting - "Don't Fall for Fake Reviews"
  • Best Medical and Science Reporting - "Pesticide-laced Pot"
  • Best News Videography of a Hard News Story, Series or Special - "Pit or Spike" - Critical Decisions During Pursuits"

Leading up to the awards gala, on January 23, the LA County Board of Supervisors declared "Chuck Henry Day" in honor of his many decades in the broadcasting industry.  And on January 26, LA City Council also honored Chuck with his own day.  See photos here and here.

Chuck has been an award-winning anchor and reporter at NBC4 for more than 20 years, and is part of the most recognized and longest-running evening news team in Southern California with NBC4 Anchor Colleen Williams, Weathercaster Fritz Coleman and Sports Anchor Fred Roggin.

The Golden Mike Awards are presented each year by the RTNA, a nonprofit organization representing broadcast news professionals throughout Southern California. Previous recipients include Williams and Coleman.
