NBC4 Southern California was bestowed with the "Water Warrior" Award by the Los Angeles Waterkeeper at the organization's event in Santa Monica on June 11, 2015.
The station received this special recognition for its outstanding drought coverage and community outreach, including hosting several town halls throughout the Southland to discuss California's historic drought. NBC4 was in the company of four other honorees including the City of Santa Monica, Google, Reformation and Omelet.
Hosting the event was NBC4 Anchor Colleen Williams and Meteorologist Crystal Egger and Reporter Patrick Healy were also there to show their support.
