For the third year in a row, NBC4 Anchor/Reporter Robert Kovacik was the emcee for the NKLA Adoption Weekend held at the LaBrea Tar Pits. Hosted by Best Friends Animal Society, the largest event of its kind in Southern California brings together a coalition of rescue organizations including L.A. City and L.A. County shelters.
A record-breaking 472 dogs and cats (and a few hamsters) found homes during the weekend of May 3rd and 4th. Robert also had the chance to introduce (and interview—one bark for “Yes”, two barks for “No”) Best Friends’ first four-legged ambassador: the one and only Lassie!
