NBC4's The Challenge Sports Show Honors Heroes in the Community

NBC4's live sports show The Challenge, hosted by award-winning Sports Anchor Fred Roggin, airs every week following Sunday Night Football.  In addition to football highlights and Roggin's Heroes,  the 30-minute show features a "Hero of the Night" each week to salute the many men and women across Southern California who serve our community.

The Challenge Hero of the Night on September 9: Officer Ryan Tillman  of the Chino Police Department is assigned as a school resource officer at Don Lugo High School. Watch the clip here.

The Challenge Heroes of the Night on September 15: Fontana Police Officer Louis Ortiz and Santa Ana Police Corporal Brett Nelson were at the right place with the right training when a runner collapsed at the Fontana Half Marathon. Watch what happened here.

The Challenge Heroes of the Night on October 20: The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homeless Outreach Service Team is full of heroes. Thanks to the actions of the following deputies for saving a man from the Rio Hondo Riverbed Channel: Deputies Stephanie Sloan, Ginger Matson, Christopher Lewis and Erik Nava -- see it here.

The Challenge Heroes of the Night on November 3: When Ontario High School's band had $10,000 in equipment stolen, their school resource officer jumped into action. Officer Jorge Sandoval played a huge role in recovering the stolen property. And one of the grateful band members joined him live at The Challenge.

The Challenge Heroes of the Night on November 10: San Manuel Fire Department's Captain Ken Bryson and Firefighters Matt Miller and Frank Inzerillo rushed to the aid of those in harms way during the Little Mountain Fire in San Bernardino. We salute them here.
