NBC4’s Dr. Bruce Hensel will be in Oxnard this weekend answering health questions and greeting the community at the California Strawberry Festival, May 19-20, at Strawberry Meadows of College Park, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The weekend getaway will be jam-packed with delicious fun and will serve up a menu of berry delights that engage every member of the family.
Dr. Bruce will be among the presenters in the Strawberry Promenade, addressing the often-overlooked health benefits of the delicious heart-shaped fruit, and will be available for festival-goers to “Ask Dr. Bruce” health-related questions at the Community Connections booth throughout the event
More than 40 food booths will be sprouting with all things berry – from strawberry pizza and funnel cake to strawberry nachos, chocolate dipped strawberries, strawberry smoothies, deep fried strawberries, and even a strawberry beer brewed just for the celebration.
Best of all, indulging only helps the cause when 100 percent of sales from non-profit food booths benefit 25 southland charities. Among the top outdoor Festival’s in the nation, the Strawberry Festival has helped raise more than $3.5 million for various southland charities while paying tribute to the region’s agricultural heritage.
