Actor and comedian Will Ferrell was reportedly injured in a crash in Orange County, Calif. April 12, 2018 after the SUV he was riding in was struck by another car.

Actor Will Ferrell was riding in an SUV that collided with another vehicle and overturned on the northbound San Diego 5 Freeway in the Mission Viejo area, but nobody was seriously hurt, authorities said on Friday.

Ferrell, 50, and three other people were in a 2017 Lincoln SUV that overturned after it was sideswiped by a 2007 Toyota about 10:50 p.m. Thursday north of La Paz Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The two vehicles were northbound on the freeway with the SUV in the HOV lane when Jacob Espinoza, 22, of Fallbrook, veered to the left and struck the front portion of the SUV for unknown reasons, according to the CHP. The SUV slammed into the center divider median and flipped over, the CHP reported.

Ferrell was taken to Mission Hospital along with two others to be treated for minor injuries, according to the CHP. One of the passengers in Ferrell's chauffer-driven SUV, Carolina Barrow, 27, of Los Angeles, was not wearing a seatbelt so suffered the most serious injuries, according to CHP Officer Rafael Reynoso. He said Barrow was treated at Mission Hospital for moderate to major injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
