Emilio Estevez Has “Godfather” Remedy for Brother Charlie Sheen

There was a time when Emilio was the "bad boy" son of Martin Sheen. No, really.

"I was a bad boy. I was drinking and I lost my virginity [on the set of "Apocalypse Now"]," Estevez says in an interview with The Sun. "I was 14. At one point, the prop guy told my mother, 'You've got to get your children out of here."

Emilio's teenage daliances have long since been eclipsed by younger brother Charilie Sheen, and Estevez thinks it may be time to teach the wayward former "Two and a Half Men" star a lesson - the Corleone way

"There's that thing in 'The Godfather: Part II' of 'I love you, Fredo, you're my brother, but don't ever take sides with anyone against the family', then Michael Corleone has to have Fredo 'taken out' on the boat.

"There are times, like these, when I want to take Charlie out for a boat ride. Someone's got to be Michael Corleone."

But despite the trigger-happy therapy plan, Estevez remains at least guardedly optimistic.

"There's always hope, and there are so many examples of people pulling themselves out of the s**t and having a rebirth"

"We all had the same set of rules," Estevez tells The Telegraph. "So it really gives credence to this theory that it is genetic, and that sometimes it skips either a generation or siblings. My mother doesn’t drink. My other brother hasn’t had a drink in over 10 years, my dad hasn’t had a drink in 20. And I make wine."

Emilio wasn't the only one commenting on Charlie's bizarre public meltdown. Father Martin Sheen also had some stinging words for the Telegraph.

You know, Charlie’s 45 years old. He’s not a kid. Emotionally he still is," says the elder Sheen. "Because when you’re addicted, you don’t grow emotionally. So when you get clean and sober you’re starting at the moment you started using drugs or alcohol. You’re emotionally crippled."

But I know what hell he’s living in," he adds. "I’ve had psychotic episodes in public. One of them was on camera – the opening scene of 'Apocalypse Now.' So I know what Charlie is going through. And when you do something like that, that is out of control, that’s the most difficult thing. You have to have courage."
